Erin VanDyke: Next Generation Is Leading the Way in Pediatric VTE Care

Erin VanDyke, Vice President of NBCA Centers of Excellence, shared a post on LinkedIn:

”Kids get VTE too

This morning’s sessions highlighted the importance of recognizing and managing pediatric venous disease, with excellent discussions on venous compression and DVT.

It was also encouraging to hear more conversation around advanced therapies and intervention in pediatric patients, especially as emerging data continues to suggest an increasing incidence of VTE in this population.

One theme stood out clearly – pediatric VTE requires a true multidisciplinary approach, with early identification, thoughtful follow-up, and ongoing monitoring for post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS).

Had a chance to connect with IR resident Younes Jahangiri  from Corewell HealthNational Blood Clot Alliance‘s inaugural VTE Center of Excellence – around his poster presentation.

Always encouraging to see COEs leading in both clinical care and academic contribution, and to watch the next generation continue to push this work forward.

The booth has been busy (in the best way).

I’ve loved seeing so many learners stop by – curious, engaged, and eager to better understand VTE and how to bring meaningful patient education and resources back to their communities.

That kind of energy is what moves this work forward.

Come see me at booth 424 tomorrow. I’d love to connect!”
