Mike Morrissey: Advancing Europe’s Cardiovascular Health Agenda at ESC Congress 2026
Mike Morrissey, Associate Vice President of Global Public Policy Europe and Canada Hub Leader at MSD, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This is a very special ESC Congress for me and the MSD Europe team.
8 years ago, I was here in Munich for the event – in my previous job as European Society of Cardiology COO.
Now I’m here to meet and work with stakeholders across cardiology to promote the implementation of the EU Safe Hearts Plan and Know Your Numbers.
It was great to see leading Doctor and MEP Andras Kulja meeting with leaders of various organisations and speak so eloquently about the importance of the plan based on his own experience as a surgeon.
Great to hear Penilla Gunther – a cancer and heart failure survivor and former Swedish MP – speak on her experience from the EU Cancer Mission Board of the Beating Cancer Plan and what’s important for patients at a time of maximum vulnerability.
Good to see MSD leaders and colleagues leading conversations with policymakers, healthcare professionals and patients on how we can continue our mission to save and improve lives.
And wonderful to see the amazing job that Thomas F. Lüscher, Jean-François Riffaud and Ghislain Daval are doing in leading the ESC Congress from strength to strength.
Congratulations to them and their great team!
Will be back in Brussels with my team in the coming days to put all these discussions into actions.
