Ahmed Bennis: Highly Individualized Anticoagulation Decision-Making Stratified by eGFR
Ahmed Bennis, Professor of Cardiology at Ibn Rochd University Hospital, shared a post on X:
“ESC Congress 2026 Munich.
Highly individualized decision-making, stratified by eGFR:
- eGFR 30–59: DOAC preferred over LMWH or VKA (Class I) for both VTE and AF.
- eGFR 15–29: Factor Xa inhibitor preferred over VKA (Class IIa/IIb).
- Dialysis or eGFR below 15: VKA or low-dose apixaban (Class IIb).”
