Mital Jhaveri: Key Updates in the 2026 Guideline on Acute Pulmonary Embolism in Adults

Mital Jhaveri, Heart Failure Pharmacist at NYC HHC Queens Hospital Center, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Mark Creager et al, published in JACC Journals:

“I’m excited to share that the 2026 АНА/АСС/АССР/АСЕР/CHEST/SCAI/SHM/SIR/SVM/SVN Guideline for the Evaluation and Management of Acute Pulmonary Embolism in Adults is now published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC).

Key updates:

  • New clinical classification system (Categories A-E) to enhance risk stratification
  • Support for outpatient management in selected low-risk patients
  • Clear recommendations on anticoagulation, follow-up, and long-term monitoring

A meaningful step forward in advancing evidence-based care for patients with acute pulmonary embolism.”
