“Hemophilia Update” in Goa: From Diagnosis to Global Perspectives and Latest Developments

”A Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme titled “Hemophilia Update” was held on 22nd December 2025 at Goa Medical College, Bambolim, in association with the i– Panaji Chapter. affiliated to Hemophilia Federation (India)
The programme began with a welcome address and introduction of speakers by Dr. Vaishali Joshi, Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics, followed by an address by Prof. Dr. J. P. Tiwari, Dean, Goa Medical College.
Dr. Sanjay Ahuja, Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist, Innovative Hematology and Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, USA, spoke on “Global Perspective and Latest Developments in Hemophilia Care,” and Dr. Suresh Hanagavadi, Professor, Department of Pathology, JJM Medical College, Davangere, delivered a session on “Laboratory Diagnosis and Advanced Management of Hemophilia.”
“Case Insights from Goa” were presented by Dr. Ramnath Nevrekar, Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Goa Medical College, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by a representative of the Hemophilia Society – Panaji Chapter.
The CME was well attended by faculty, consultants, residents, and postgraduate students from all concerned departments of Goa Medical College, reflecting strong commitment to improving hemophilia care in the state.”
