Alex Ballout: Novel FUT1 Variant Linked to a Rare H-Deficient Blood Phenotype
Alex Ballout, University Lecturer at Bethlehem University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Transfusion, adding:
“Happy to share that our paper has just been published in Transfusion, the official journal of AABB and one of the most established and leading journals in blood banking and transfusion medicine.
In this work, we report a novel FUT1 variant associated with a rare H-deficient blood phenotype. To our knowledge, this is the first documented case of its kind in Palestine.
Many thanks to my co-authors and colleagues for this esteemed work. Proud of what we have achieved in this research, a meaningful step forward for transfusion medicine in Palestine.”
