Looking Beyond Bleeding Control To Understand Inflammation In Hemophilic Arthropathy – CRH French Reference Center for Hemophilia Lyon
CRH French Reference Center for Hemophilia Lyon shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Clotilde Martin et al, published in Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, adding:
“Very happy to share our latest publication on hemophilic arthropathy.
It has been a privilege to collaborate with Prof. Len Valentino on this important topic. This work is a real eye-opener regarding the management of joint damage at the early, potentially reversible stage of synovitis.
While bleeding prevention remains the cornerstone of hemophilia care, our findings suggest that targeting inflammation may represent a valuable complementary strategy to reduce the risk of irreversible bone damage and long-term joint deterioration.
This study reinforces the need to look beyond bleeding control alone and to better understand the role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of hemophilic arthropathy.”
