Eugene Fan: A Rewarding Few Days at the ISTH 2026 Congress in Paris

Eugene Fan, Senior Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

”A rewarding few days at the ISTH 2026 Congress in Paris, bringing together excellent science, international collaboration, and opportunities to support the next generation of researchers.

Honoured to present during the ‘Superficial vein thrombosis and thrombophilias’ oral communications session on our whole-genome sequencing SG10K study on venous thromboembolism-associated genetic loci in 9,770 individuals of Chinese, Indian, and Malay ancestry, and to co-moderate the Pulmonary Embolism oral communication session with Professor Laurent Bertoletti.

A particular highlight was supporting my junior colleagues, Tong Tong and Jun Kai Yeong, in presenting their posters on the epidemiology of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura in Singapore, and an AI piece on large language models for viscoelastic test interpretation.

It was also especially meaningful to meet Dr Lan Lan Smith, Editor-in-Chief of The Lancet Haematology, and to connect with colleagues and friends from the UK Gerard Gurumurthy, Prof Jecko Thachil, Prof Michael Makris and across the international haematology community, and fellow editors from Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis and RPTH Journal Editorial Boards.

Grateful to everyone who made this congress so memorable!”
