Ingo Ahrens, Professor of Medicine at University of Freiburg, Head of Department of Cardiology at Augustinerinnen Hospital, Academic Teaching Hospital University of Cologne, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Josef Kroupa et al., published in NEJM, adding:
“After Hi-PEITHO earlier this year another positive trial of catheter directed thrombolysis in acute intermediate high pulmonary embolism.
…exciting times for advanced therapies in acute PE and very positive news for our patients.
Just presented in an hotline session at ESC 2026 in Munich.”
