“Our group’s work will be featured in two poster presentations today at ISTH 2026, spanning perioperative anticoagulation and the management of factor Xa inhibitor–associated bleeding.
Board PB3094 — Perioperative Management of Anticoagulation in Patients with Mechanical Heart Valves
This study examines anticoagulant interruption, perioperative bridging, and the balance between postoperative thromboembolic and bleeding risk in patients with mechanical heart valves.
Board PB3001 — Effect of PCC on Thrombin Generation in Patients on Factor Xa Inhibitors with Bleeding or Needing Urgent Surgery (GAUGE)
GAUGE examines how four-factor PCC affects thrombin generation and hemostasis in patients with factor Xa inhibitor–associated major bleeding or requiring urgent surgery. The full study is now published in Blood Advances.
