Kevin Tang: Evolving Burden of CVD Across Asia and Its Broader Implications for Global Health Policy

Kevin Tang, Chief Resident at UC Irvine Medical Center, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he co-authored with Andy Lee, adding:

“Very excited to share the publication of our latest editorial comment in JACC: Asia from JACC Journals, examining the evolving burden of cardiovascular disease across the Asian continent and its broader implications for global health policy.

Having studied Global Affairs and written my Master’s thesis on healthcare policy reform in China, I’ve been particularly interested in how demographic transitions, financing structures, and healthcare delivery shape population-level outcomes. It was thus a privilege and honor to examine the important work put forth by Zhang et al. in this issue of JACC: Asia incorporating data from the Global Burden of Disease 2021 study, highlighting both encouraging progress and the urgent challenges ahead.

Thank you, as always, to Nathan Wong and Andy Lee, as it is their support and mentorship that make these projects possible.”
