Same goal, Different molecular strategy – Which FVIIIa Mimetic Gets There How? – RPTH Journal
RPTH Journal shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Jacob Lund et al, adding:
“Same goal. Different molecular strategy. Which FVIIIa mimetic gets there how?
This new RPTH study directly compares denecimig (Mim8), zemocimig (NXT007), and emicizumab under the same experimental conditions.
The next-generation mimetics take strikingly different routes:
- Zemocimig – highest FIXa–FX complex assembly affinity
- Denecimig – lower affinity, but dramatically higher catalytic activity
- Yet denecimig and zemocimig produced remarkably similar thrombin-generation profiles, with both showing greater potency than emicizumab.
Different engineering strategies – similar enhancement of hemostatic potential.
An intriguing mechanistic look at the evolving generation of FVIIIa-mimetic therapies for hemophilia A.”
