Saman Adnan: New Research Explores Readmission Risk in Brain Cancer Patients With VTE

Saman Adnan, USMLE aspirant, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Blood, adding:

“Thrilled to share that our team’s abstract has been published in the journal ‘Blood‘ as part of the ‘67th ASH Annual Meeting Abstracts‘!

As the group leader of this incredible, multi-institutional research group, it has been an absolute privilege to work with my fellow talented co-authors and mentor, Jawad Ahmed.

Working alongside such talented peers from across different institutions has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

Our study, ‘Thirty-day readmission in patients with brain cancer and venous thromboembolism: A nationwide analysis using the national readmissions database,’ looks closely at a highly vulnerable neuro-oncologic population.

Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a severe, life-threatening complication for brain cancer patients, yet data on what drives early hospital readmissions has been limited.”
