Tvisha Subhasish: Extravascular Factor IX Beyond the Circulation

Tvisha Subhasish, Research Specialist – Department of Surgery at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and Christopher Reed co-authored, published in Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, adding:

”Proud to share my first first-author paper!

‘Extravascular Factor IX: A Semicentennial Narrative Review’ is now out in RPTH Journal.

Despite decades of research, there are major unanswered questions about extravascular Factor IX. In this review, we highlight research updates on extravascular Factor IX since 2020, and present remaining questions to help guide future investigations.

Thank you to my mentors Dr. Christopher Reed, Matthew D. Neal and Susan Shea for their support and guidance in this work. Your input and encouragement at Pittsburgh Trauma and Transfusion Medicine Research Center have been invaluable.

I’m looking forward to continuing our own work quantifying extravascular Factor IX dynamics in traumatic injury animal models and sharing our findings in the coming months.”
