Do You Know Why Clot Contracts? Marin Pavlov Reflects on Expert PE Conference 2025
Marin Pavlov, Assistant Professor at Sveučilište Sjever / University North, shared on LinkedIn:
”Hey clot bros,
Do you know why clot contracts?
What are the viscoelastic properties of thrombi in pts with recidive as opposed to pts with first vte episode?
What is Khorana score? How relevant is VTE incidence in the first pregnancy trimester?
How Catalin Toma tackles proximal DVT in PE patients scheduled for intervention and clots in transit?
What were the results of 6mw tests in Storm PE? When to expect HI-PEITHO results?
How is recruitment going for PEERLESS II and PERSEVERE? What does Stefano Barco have to suggest for your ECMO PE cases?
What do James Horowitz and our transatlantic friends do to promote VTE awareness?
Third edition of Expert PE conference in beautiful city of Krakow delivered superb lectures, vibrant discussions, and insight in what clinicians and researches are doing in centers of excelence.
A general take home message might be that we not only need more studies, but we need to study more this highly relevant, yet heterogenic and peculiar disease.
ACVC_ESC was represented by Agnieszka Tycińska MD, PhD, FESC and Ingo Ahrens, while the meeting was endorsed by ACVC.
Sincere congratulations to Expert PE study group members and enthusiastic Polish cardiac society.”
