”New publication in Stroke
Proud to share that our research letter,“Early Detection of Large Vessel Occlusions by Bilateral Carotid Pressure Monitoring,” has been published in Stroke (American Heart Association).
In this blinded observational ICU study, we show that continuous, noninvasive bilateral carotid pressure monitoring can detect large vessel occlusions (LVOs)—including in sedated or critically ill patients, where strokes are often missed.
Key findings:
- 100% sensitivity and 85.7% specificity for confirmed LVOs
- Alerts occurred within therapeutic windows, when intervention could still be feasible
- Continuous, operator-independent monitoring
- High signal quality and no device-related complications
This work highlights a potential new approach for real-time inpatient stroke surveillance, addressing a critical gap in perioperative and ICU care.
Grateful to our clinical collaborators Hillit Cohen ,Roni Eichel ,Erez Kachel ,Shady Jahshan, Danny Dvir most importantly, to the patients who made this research possible.”
