”As someone who has spent my entire career in transfusion and plasma science, I cannot overstate how urgent and strategic this conversation has become.

Plasma is not just another component of healthcare.

It is a national resilience asset — a lifeline for patients with immune deficiencies, bleeding disorders, critical infections, and countless complex conditions.

Yet most countries still depend almost entirely on foreign donors for a resource their own citizens desperately need.

  • Nations that invest in their own plasma infrastructure gain health security.
  • Donors thrive when systems are structured, safe, transparent, and dignifying.
  • Communities benefit economically and socially.
