Riten Kumar: DOACs Effectiveness in Pediatric Cancer-Associated Thrombosis
Riten Kumar, Director of Thrombosis and Anticoagulation at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, shared a post on LinkedIn, about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, adding:
”Direct oral anticoagulants are efficacious when appropriately used in children with cancer associated thrombosis – though the rate of clinically relevant bleeding in this cohort was higher than what’s been reported in the pediatric randomized trials……..
Most CRNM bleeds occurred in the setting of thrombocytopenia.”
