Pat Garcia-Gonzalez։ Love as an Essential Part of the Healing Journey
Pat Garcia-Gonzalez, Chief Executive Officer at The Max Foundation, shared The Max Foundation’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
”Valentine’s Day: an opportunity to show our love for those around us. Today reminds me that love often shows its strength in places we least expect.
Last year while visiting El Salvador, I had the privilege of meeting Jessica and her boyfriend, Alberto. Their bond is a powerful example of the kind of unwavering support that uplifts people no matter who they are.
At The Max Foundation, we focus on delivering medication and care, but I’m continually humbled by what patients and their families teach us. Love—steady, courageous love—is an essential part of healing journey.
Thank you to all the partners, caregivers, and loved ones who walk beside someone facing cancer. Your everyday presence makes all the difference.”

”When our CEO Pat Garcia-Gonzalez met Jessica and her boyfriend Alberto in El Salvador, she was struck by their love. Jessica is a lawyer and notary who specializes in corporate law for a public institution that provides drinking water and sanitation services nationwide in El Salvador. Jessica was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in 2012 when she was a young teen.
Thanks to accessing the medicine she needs, Jessica has been able to live a normal life.
Today, we honor the partners who hold hands through the hardest days and cheer the loudest on the brightest ones. Thank you for proving, again and again, that love is one of the most powerful medicines we have.”
