Piezo1 Gain-of-Function Mutation Explains Thromboembolic Complications in Hereditary Xerocytosis – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Christilla Bachelot-Loza et al, adding:
”Piezo1 gain of function induces a platelet preactivation state
Piezo1 gain-of-function mutations create a platelet preactivation state that enhances thrombosis risk, explaining thromboembolic complications in hereditary xerocytosis patients and revealing mechanosensitive ion channels as critical regulators of platelet hemostatic function.”
