Sthanu Subramanian: POEMS Syndrome a Rare Paraneoplastic Disorder with Multisystem Manifestations
Sthanu Subramanian, Pediatrician, shared a post on X:
”POEMS syndrome is a rare, severe paraneoplastic disorder caused by an underlying plasma cell disorder, characterized by polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, M-protein, and skin changes.
It often involves elevated vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and sclerotic bone lesions, typically requiring chemotherapy or radiation for treatment.”
