Sofie Abels: Implications for Targeted Screening for Thrombophilia in Young Stroke Patients

Sofie Abels, Cardiology Trainee at Radboudumc, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, adding:

”Proud to share my first scientific publication, recently published in Stroke.

This research was conducted in Helsinki, during the final phase of my Master’s degree, which was an inspiring introduction to clinical research.

Our work shows that thrombophilia abnormalities are common in young stroke patients and suggests targeted screening in specific patient groups.

Many thanks to all co-authors for their collaboration.

I am especially grateful to Jukka Putaala, Anu Eräkanto and Frank-Erik de Leeuw for their guidance and support.”
