Emphasizing The Importance Of Early Diagnosis For Improving Hemophilia Care In Armenia – Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center
Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, MOH of Armenia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
” ‘Diagnosis: The First Step in Care.’
Today is World Hemophilia Day.
Hemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency or functional impairment of clotting factors.
It most commonly affects males because it is linked to the X chromosome, while females are usually carriers of the gene.
The ‘Yeolyan’ Hematology and Oncology Center is the only institution in Armenia providing hemophilia care in full compliance with international standards.
Thanks to highly qualified specialists, the center operates a multidisciplinary care model that ensures prevention, treatment, physiotherapy, rehabilitation therapy, as well as dental and psychological support.
According to national data in Armenia, there are 299 registered patients who, unlike in previous years, now have no issues with access to medication.
Patients receive full support from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, including care and costly anti-hemophilic products, which must be taken throughout their lives.
Support is also provided by the World Federation of Hemophilia, including continuous drug supply, training of specialists, and mentorship programs.
This year’s World Hemophilia Day theme is ‘Diagnosis: The First Step in Care.’
Emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis, one of our goals is the early detection of new cases and their prompt inclusion in preventive treatment programs.
Thanks to early diagnosis, children and adults with hemophilia are able to live normal lives alongside their condition.
Without restrictions, they can attend school and university, participate in sports, and achieve success.
Every patient deserves personalized, continuous, and comprehensive care.”
