Isaac Okello: Africa CDC Launches Continental Framework for Sickle Cell Disease
Isaac Okello, Global Genes Leadership Council Member, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this week (11th–12th May 2026), Raising Hope International Friends joined AU Member States and partners at Africa CDC for the validation and launch of the continental plan for Sickle Cell Disease and other Inherited Blood Disorders, a major step toward coordinated efforts, adoption, and implementation.
The Continental framework on Sickle cell disease and inherited blood disorders initiative was more than just a plan; it was a shared commitment by African leaders and partners to transition from fragmented efforts to an integrated, sustainable, and patient-centered response across the continent.
Thank you, Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation, for supporting our participation.”
