Ahmed Elsobky: Strengthening Hemophilia Care Under Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System
Ahmed Elsobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Egypt Healthcare Authority, shared on LinkedIn:
”I was pleased to meet with Dr. Ayman Hassan, Chairman and General Manager of Novo Nordisk Egypt and Libya, accompanied by Dr. Ayman Afifi, Head of Government Affairs, and Dr. Farouk Zaky, Government Affairs Manager, to discuss expanding strategic cooperation during the second phase of Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System.
Our discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in medical education and professional capacity building, in addition to advancing awareness and prevention programs targeting chronic diseases, particularly diabetes, obesity, fatty liver disease, and rare blood disorders, in line with Egypt’s vision for a more integrated, sustainable, and patient-centered healthcare system.
We firmly believe that investing in healthcare human capital is a cornerstone for improving service quality and ensuring better health outcomes.
In this regard, the Healthcare Authority Academy continues to play a pivotal role in equipping healthcare professionals with the latest evidence-based medical protocols and international best practices.
Minya Governorate represents a key model for this partnership as one of the first governorates in the second phase of the Universal Health Insurance System, given its population density and the increasing need for expanded medical training and community awareness initiatives, particularly in underserved areas.
We also reviewed the successful outcomes of our ongoing collaboration in supporting hemophilia patients across several governorates, reflecting the importance of impactful partnerships in strengthening healthcare delivery and improving patients’ quality of life within Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance framework.”
