Megan Adediran: Giving Hope to People Living with Bleeding Disorders
Megan Adediran, Executive Director at Hemophilia Foundation of Nigeria, shared a post LinkedIn:
“My journey in advocacy began through the pain of watching my son live with a bleeding disorder and experiencing firsthand the fear, uncertainty, and challenges that come with limited awareness and access to care.
As I walked that journey with him, I began to see that many other individuals and families were also suffering silently due to delayed diagnosis, stigma, misunderstanding, and inadequate support.
Over the years, I have listened to stories of pain, resilience, and survival that strengthened my passion to keep speaking up for those whose voices are often unheard, especially women and girls whose symptoms are frequently dismissed or misunderstood.
Through awareness campaigns, community engagements, partnerships, and storytelling, I have learned that advocacy is not just about raising awareness.
It is about creating change, restoring hope, and ensuring that people feel seen, heard, and supported.
This journey continues to remind me that one voice, when used with purpose, can truly make a difference.”
