Fernanda Flygare: HI-PEITHO Trial Highlights Benefits of EKOS-Assisted Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis in PE
Fernanda Flygare, Marketing manager at Boston Scientific, shared on LinkedIn:
”In intermediate-risk pulmonary embolism, anticoagulation alone may not always be sufficient to prevent hemodynamic deterioration.
The HI-PEITHO trial provided important evidence showing that ultrasound-assisted catheter-directed thrombolysis with the EKOS system, combined with anticoagulation, reduced clinically relevant outcomes while contributing to greater patient stability without increasing major bleeding.
In this video, Dr. Felipe Nasser, specialist in Interventional Radiology and Endovascular Surgery, shares his perspective on how these findings may translate into clinical practice and impact patient management.
At Boston Scientific, we remain committed to advancing continuous medical education and fostering high-level clinical discussions that support evidence-based decision-making and ultimately improve patient care.
Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing valuable scientific exchange and education to the medical community.
