Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP)

  • Autoimmune platelet destruction
  • Bleeding disorder
  • PT/APTT usually normal
  • Large platelets on smear

Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP)

  • Platelet-rich microthrombi
  • Clotting and hemolysis disorder
  • Schistocytes on smear
  • Severe ADAMTS13 deficiency
