Intissar Haddiya: Can Low-Dose Rivaroxaban Improve Cardiovascular Outcomes in Patients with Advanced CKD?
Intissar Haddiya, Professor of Nephrology at Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Oujda Mohammed First University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Raja Ramachandran et al., published in JAMA, adding:
“Low-Dose Rivaroxaban and Cardiovascular Events in Advanced Kidney Disease (Track_Trial)
Can low-dose rivaroxaban improve cardiovascular outcomes in patients with advanced CKD?
In the TRACK randomized trial (1458 patients with CKD stage 4–5, including those on dialysis):
- No reduction in major cardiovascular events (HR 1.09; p=0.46)
- Higher rates of major bleeding (8.8% vs 6.0%)
- Low-dose rivaroxaban did not provide cardiovascular benefit and increased bleeding risk in this high-risk population.”
Title: Low-Dose Rivaroxaban and Cardiovascular Events in Advanced Kidney DiseaseThe TRACK Randomized Clinical Trial
