J. Meireles-Brandao: Role of Modifiable Cardiovascular Risk Factors in Dementia Development
J. Meireles-Brandao, Associate at SEDES – Association for Economic and Social Development, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Jiao Luo et al., published in Atherosclerosis, adding:
“Lipoprotein, LDLc, CVRF, Dementia, CVD
Findings provide causal insights into the role of modifiable cardiovascular risk factors in dementia development and highlight several potentially important targets for dementia prevention.
The results support a potential causal contribution of elevated LDL-C, triglycerides, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, and excess body weight to dementia risk
and may help prioritize risk factors for prevention strategies and future intervention studies to preserve brain health and reduce dementia risk.
Mitigating the consequences of the atherosclerotic process!”
