Mona Alfaraj: It Was a Hot Week Attending ISTH 2026 Congress in Paris
Mona Alfaraj, Consultant Hematopathologist and Transfusionist, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”It was a hot week attending ISTH 26 Congress in Paris.
It fuels the excitement to engage with groundbreaking research and connect with global experts shaping the future of bleeding and thrombotic disorders .
The program was rich with high-value diagnostic topics features SSC standardization, revising criteria for inherited platelets disorders, novel format guidance in LA reporting, Integration between vWF and ADMTS13, HIT testing, BDUC, automation and digital integration.
The exhibition there was another story as it demonstrated a seamless synergy between sophisticated mechanical hardware and advanced software data management.
Other important item that has to be highlighted in ISTH 26 in Paris is providing a model in an initiative component in Women’s Health Advocacy which prioritizes maternal health, equitable care, and equitable opportunities within the field of thrombosis and hemostasis not only through conducting a special sessions of women health but additionally through having an on-site nursery which is a transformative, shining example of equity in medicine.
By Partnering with a 40+ year experienced Kiddie Corp nursery (for the second year), ISTH offers a dedicated on-site childcare area for children ages 6 months to 12 years, dismantling systemic barriers and empowering women to lead, innovate, and connect without sacrificing their maternal roles, ISTH paves the way for a more inclusive, diverse, and brilliant global scientific community.
This service allows parents to fully immerse themselves in the scientific sessions, abstract presentations, and networking events while their children are cared by experienced professionals.
I would like to thank all teams supporting and enabling us to attend such a great pioneer international event as attending with participating in such event is not luxurious.
Instead, it represents a corner stone in providing sustainability of high quality health care services in hemostasis and thrombosis.”
