Mavis Agnes Kisakye: Empowering Village Health Teams for Better Haemophilia Care

Mavis Agnes kisakye, Executive Director at Haemophilia Foundation of Uganda, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Village Health Teams (VHTs) represent the foundational pillar of the Ministry of Health’s structure, serving as the link between households and formal health facilities. Operating at the primary care level, they are often the first to identify health concerns and facilitate timely community referrals.

HFU continues to build the capacity of VHTs with essential knowledge on haemophilia and other blood disorders.

Equipping these dedicated community health workers ensures early symptom identification, swift referrals, and better health outcomes for patients at the grassroot level.

A sincere thank you to the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Hemoglobinopathies Foundation (NNHF) for supporting our mission to strengthen community health systems and bridge care gaps across the country!”
