Hiram Mwangi: Advancing Sickle Cell Care Through Red Blood Cell Exchange
Hiram Mwangi, Middle Africa at Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Proud to have partnered with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) College of Health Sciences and the Ghana National Blood Service on an Apheresis Academy workshop in Kumasi, Ghana – ‘Advancing Sickle Cell Care Through Innovation.’
Clinicians, blood bank leaders and apheresis specialists came together to explore how automated Red Blood Cell Exchange (aRBCx) can transform outcomes for patients living with Sickle Cell Disease – from stroke prevention to reducing transfusion-related complications like alloimmunization and iron overload.
Grateful to every speaker and partner who made the day possible, and to KNUST for capturing it so well.”
