Eric Topol: Shingles Vaccine Associated with 10% Drop in Heart Failure and Stroke
Eric Topol, Founder and Director of Scripps Research Translational Institute, shared a post on X about a recent article by Fabiana Corsi-Zuelli et al., published in Nature Medicine, adding:
“Beyond the established Shingles vaccine link to some protection from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, a large natural experiment provides evidence for a small (nearly 10%) reduction in stroke, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, and atrial fibrillation, broadening the association of benefit Nature Medicine, Maxime Taquet and colleagues.”
