Muhammed Safvan: One Drop of Blood Can Tell a Story
Muhammed Safvan, Medical laboratory technologist at BSC-MLT, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“One Drop of Blood Can Tell a Story.
A blood sample may look simple, but it can reveal a remarkable amount of information about what is happening inside the body.
From CBC and peripheral blood smear to biochemistry, coagulation, hormonal and serological tests, every result provides a piece of the diagnostic puzzle.
- CBC – evaluates blood cells, anaemia, infection and bleeding disorders.
- Peripheral blood smear – reveals cellular morphology and abnormal blood cells.
- Biochemistry – provides clues about liver, kidney, heart and metabolic function.
- Coagulation tests – assess the body’s clotting process.
- Specialized tests – help investigate specific diseases and conditions.
- But behind every reliable result is a process.
Correct sample – accurate testing – quality control – result validation – clinical decision.
A laboratory report is not just a number.
It is a piece of information that can influence a diagnosis, treatment and ultimately a patient’s life.
As Medical Laboratory Technologists, our responsibility goes beyond testing samples – we help ensure that every result is accurate, reliable and clinically meaningful.
One drop.
Endless answers.
Better diagnosis.
Better care.”
