Wei Du: New Therapeutic Potential for PARP Inhibitors in MLL-Rearranged Leukemia
Wei Du, Associate Professor at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, shared a post on LinekdIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Nature Communications, adding:
“Excited to share our latest work, now published in Nature Communications!
In this study, we demonstrate that the Fanconi anemia pathway restrains MLL-rearranged leukemia by suppressing error-prone non-homologous end joining–mediated genomic instability.
Importantly, our findings also highlight the therapeutic potential of repurposing PARP inhibitors for this high-risk leukemia.
I am incredibly grateful for the dedication, creativity, and collaborative efforts of all the members of the Du Lab, and deeply appreciative of the support from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. This work would not have been possible without this outstanding team and our wonderful collaborators.”
