Rick Matthews: Expanding Mechanical Thrombectomy to Coronary Arteries

Rick Matthews, Senior Vascular Consultant at Argon Medical Devices, shared a post on LinkedIn:

”As a vascular consultant working in the VTE space, I’m always interested in technologies that advance how we approach thrombus management.

I recently came across Vesalio’s enVast Coronary Clot Retriever, and it is a pretty amazing system. It’s another reminder that significant clot burden can occur throughout the vascular system — from the venous circulation and peripheral vessels to the brain and coronary arteries.

The recently reported NATURE randomized trial results make this technology especially interesting and demonstrate how mechanical thrombectomy continues to expand across different areas of vascular care.

It’s exciting to see new approaches being developed to help physicians address challenging clot burden and restore blood flow.”
