Rucha Patil: Improving Patient Access and Care for Haemophilia in Uttar Pradesh
Rucha Patil, Scientist at Department of Haemostasis and Thrombosis, ICMR- National Institute of Immunohaematology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Uttar Pradesh Haemophilia Conclave 2026, Lucknow, 29 August 2026
Honoured to be part of the Uttar Pradesh Haemophilia Conclave 2026, organised by the UP Haematology Group. An excellent scientific agenda and a meaningful meeting led by Dr. S. P. Verma and Dr. Rashmi Kushwaha.
The lectures and panel discussions focused on improving the diagnosis, treatment, and overall care of persons with haemophilia in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the current status, existing gaps, and the way forward.
It was encouraging to see passionate clinicians, stakeholders, and policymakers come together, learn from the experiences of other states with better-established procurement and treatment models, and engage in constructive discussions to improve patient access and care.
I was extremely happy to be invited to speak about Health Technology Assessment (HTA) of haemophilia therapies and how evidence and recommendations through the DHR or HTAIn framework can support state-level policy and procurement decisions.
I sincerely hope the evidence and perspectives shared will help improve access to emicizumab, particularly for patients with inhibitors and selected patients without inhibitors experiencing excessive or life-threatening bleeds.”
