Zain Khalpey: Why the Underlying Mechanism Matters in Myocardial Ischemia
Zain Khalpey, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, shared a post on X:
“Myocardial ischemia can arise through different mechanisms, from plaque rupture and thrombosis to oxygen supply demand imbalance.
Understanding what is driving the ischemia is critical to distinguishing ACS, type 2 MI, and unstable angina.”
