Robert Sidonio, Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network (ATHN) is pleased to announce that Robert F. Sidonio will join the ATHN team in the ATHN Advanced Clinical Research Fellowship Program.

As an advanced training initiative, the fellowship offers an experienced hematologist with extensive clinical experience and a strong background in clinical investigation to support ATHN Research. Dr. Sidonio will work with ATHN’s research staff to implement new data quality processes supporting our national research agenda in congenital bleeding disorders.

He will also collaborate with the ATHN Physician Think Tank to promote the development of investigator-initiated research.

A nationally and internationally recognized leader in pediatric hematology, Dr. Sidonio brings deep expertise in clinical research, patient care, and mentorship.

During his 12 years at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, he led the hemostasis and thrombosis team, pediatric hemophilia treatment center, and Aflac Clinical Research Office.

His leadership advanced multidisciplinary care, including the development of a women and girls clinic and clinical pathways addressing heavy menstrual bleeding.

Dr. Sidonio has led numerous investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials focused on hemophilia and von Willebrand disease, including ATHN 9:

Severe VWD Study and the MOTIVATE and SAFE studies.

He has also mentored junior faculty, fellows, and trainees, helping prepare the next generation of bleeding disorders researchers and clinicians.

Dr. Sidonio will conclude his tenure at Emory and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on December 31, 2026, and will join ATHN in January 2027.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Sidonio to ATHN. We look forward to his contributions as we work together to secure data, advance knowledge, and transform care.”
