Sébastien Béland: Validating RUDAS for Detecting Neurocognitive Impairment in Sickle Cell Disease

Sébastien Béland, Associate Professor at University of Montreal, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Blood Advances, adding:

“Paper alert!

We are excited to share the culmination of a research project that began in 2018!

Our study included 440 adults living with sickle cell disease across three centers in Canada and France, using a multidisciplinary neurocognitive assessment as the reference standard, and was conducted in two languages.

Our findings show that the RUDAS is a valuable tool for improving detection of neurocognitive impairments that too often go unrecognized in patients living with sickle cell disease.

With Stéphanie Forté, Sara-Maude Desforges, Kevin Kuo, and other wonderful colleagues.”
