”Thanks for promoting this recent manuscript which is a gift to the community of women and girls with bleeding disorders (focuses on hemophilia carriers and WGH).
Of course I was a small part of this collaboration between Michelle Lavin (Ireland) and Rezan Kadir (UK).”
Mediamedic shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Rethinking Bleeding in Women and Girls with Hemophilia
Robert Sidonio, a co-author of a new Blood ‘How I Treat’ article addressing the management of bleeding in women and girls with hemophilia and hemophilia carriers.
The article highlights how women and girls can experience significant bleeding and emphasizes the importance of moving beyond traditional perceptions of hemophilia as a predominantly male disorder.
The authors discuss delayed diagnosis, reproductive-tract bleeding, joint bleeding and management across different stages of life, while emphasizing the need for specialized care and greater awareness among healthcare professionals.
Sidonio is a hematologist at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University.”
