Nagesh Ramesh: Donating Blood for International Plasma Awareness Week
Nagesh Ramesh, President at Life Plasma, shared on LinkedIn:
“To celebrate International Plasma Awareness Week (IPAW), I rolled up my sleeve to donate blood today.
Blood is then component manufactured into LRBC, Plasma, and Platelets and is transfused into patients going through surgeries, trauma, and cancer treatment.
There is a critical shortage of blood in our community hospitals, due to an aging population and a general lack of participation from healthy individuals.
This is not a local trend (I wish it was!) but a global trend.
I hope this post can inspire a handful of you to donate blood or plasma at your nearest blood bank.
P.S.: I donated blood at our very own Life Plasma Blood Centers second location outside Philadelphia.
So proud to be part of a team that is making a positive impact in the lives of patients in our community.”
