Louise St. Germain Bannon: Every Conversation Matters Beyond World Thrombosis Day
Louise St. Germain Bannon, Interim Executive Director at International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), shared a post on LinkedIn:
”As World Thrombosis Day comes to a close, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone around the world who took part today.
To our partners, healthcare professionals, researchers, patient advocates, survivors and supporters, thank you for sharing your voices, your stories, your expertise and your time.
Every post, event, conversation and effort to raise awareness matters.
We are grateful to be part of a global community that cares so deeply about making a difference.
This year, we focused on women’s health and how blood clot risks can change throughout a woman’s life.
It’s an important conversation, and one that needs to continue well beyond today.
World Thrombosis Day is October 13, but awareness cannot be limited to one day!
Blood clots affect millions of lives, yet the risks and warning signs are still too often overlooked.
We all have a role to play in changing that.
It can be as simple as sharing information, talking with a family member, asking questions about risk or helping someone recognize when they need medical attention.
These everyday conversations matter.
They can help people recognize the signs, understand their risks and take action when it counts.
Thank you to everyone who helped make today meaningful.
Let’s keep the conversation going, keep learning from one another and keep working to prevent blood clots and save lives.
Every day is an opportunity to raise awareness.
Will you? Every conversation matters.”
