Emanuel Sueldo: CAHT 2026 Celebrates Scientific Progress and Team Achievements

“XVII Argentine Congress of Haemostasis and Thrombosis – CAHT 2026.
We closed four intense days of science, learning and meetings at the Universidad Católica Argentina Convention Center.
I take a lot to share.
Workshop ‘The challenge of anticoagulating a patient with hemophilia’.
I had the honor of sharing this workshop with Dr. Alejandra Baques and Dr. Maria Williams. We address an increasingly frequent scenario, from an interdisciplinary perspective between the clinic and the laboratory.

Oral communications:
- Presented ‘Strategies to correct FVIII interference in the plasma quantification of emicizumab’, a contribution to improve the monitoring of patients with hemophilia who receive this therapy.
- Carolina Cervio presented ‘Comprehensive care and therapeutic evolution of a pediatric cohort with hemophilia. Experience of a single center of high complexity.’
Two awards for the team
- Best clinical paper: ‘Clinically unsuspected venous thromboembolism (VNSTE) in pediatrics’, presented by Belen Bianco.
- Second best laboratory work: ‘Diagnostic utility of antiphospholipid antibodies IgM isotype in pediatric antiphospholipid syndrome’ presented by Silvina Eliana Annetta.
And on the other hand, in a teamwork that we have been doing for several years together with Mirta Arias, Liliana Rossetti, Alejandra Baques and Academia Nacional de Medicina de Buenos Aires CONICET team, we presented the progress of the CATHALIZAR Project Grupo CAHT: ‘Genotype-Phenotype Relationships in Hemophilia.
Development and application of molecular and biochemical tools for the improvement of the diagnosis and treatment of people with hemophilia’, with Liliana Rossetti as a speaker.”
