Gregg W. Stone: Short-Term DOACs Show Advantage Over DAPT Post-LAAO
Gregg W. Stone, Interventional Cardiologist, Director of Academic Affairs for Mount Sinai Heart Health System, Professor of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine, shared a post on X about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in EHJ, adding:
“Now published in EHJ:
In 3 RCTs (n=704), 2-3-mo Rx w/DOACs (low dose in 2 trials) low device-related thrombosis (DRT) and major bleeding c/w DAPT, with NS Δ in death and stroke/SE.
DRT has been associated with thromboembolic events, and the RR of 0.61 for stroke/SE favors DOAC use.”
