Lewis Thomas: Connecting Through Shared Experiences at ASCAT 2026
Lewis Thomas, Founder at Sickleverse, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”One of the highlights of attending ASCAT 2026 last week was the people I met along the way.
It was great to hear about the latest sickle cell research from around the world, but what meant the most to me was meeting people who have been following my work and connecting with the content I share.
Particularly fellow sickle cell warriors who told me how much my work resonates with them.
It was a lovely reminder of why I keep showing up. Not just to share medical knowledge in a way people can understand, but to speak from the heart about experiences that only someone living with sickle cell can truly understand.
It was also great to catch up with colleagues who share the same mission of improving life for people with sickle cell, and to make so many new connections along the way.
I left feeling encouraged, grateful and motivated to keep doing what I’m doing.”
