Eleonora Gambineri: First Results of the IEI-Haem Consortium at ESID 2026
Eleonora Gambineri, Associate Professor at Università degli Studi di Firenze, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”Proud to share the first results of the IEI-Haem Consortium at ESID 2026!
It was a great pleasure to present the preliminary findings of IEI-Haem at the ESID 2026 Congress in Maastricht, an international collaborative research project that I have the privilege of coordinating as a physician-scientist at Meyer Children’s Hospital IRCCS and the University of Florence.
Bringing together outstanding research teams from Italy, France, Spain, Sweden and Canada, IEI-Haem aims to uncover the hidden links between Inborn Errors of Immunity and haematological disorders, paving the way for earlier diagnosis, a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms and, ultimately, more personalised and targeted treatments.
Sharing our first results with the international immunology community marks an important milestone in this exciting journey!
My sincere gratitude goes to the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases (EJP-RD) for funding this ambitious project, to Regione Toscana for its valuable support, and to all our international consortium partners for their dedication, expertise and collaborative spirit.
A special thank you to our Patient Advocacy Organisations, NAnA ETS and APIQ, whose involvement ensures that patients and families remain at the heart of our research.
This is just the beginning!
Together, we are building bridges between immunology and haematology, with a shared ambition: translating scientific discoveries into better care for our patients.”
