Amos Gitonga Mbaabu: Global Partnerships Supporting Hemophilia and Sickle Cell Care in Africa
Amos Gitonga Mbaabu, Associate Programme Manager-Southern Africa at Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week, I had the privilege of meeting with Elin Jäger, our newest Council member at Novo Nordisk Haemophilia and Haemoglobinopathies Foundation, in Nairobi to introduce her to some of the projects and partnerships driving impact across Sub Saharan Africa.
Representing my colleagues GATOTO Carole and Llyord Mwaniki, we had inspiring conversations that reflected both the depth of our work and the ambition of our shared vision.
Elin heard directly from one of NNHFs longest standing partners, the Kenya Haemophilia Association, which has been supported for more than a decade.
She also gained valuable insights into haemophilia and sickle cell disease through both the medical perspective of Dr Catherine Muendo and the lived experience shared by James Kago.
Together, these voices brought our vision to life: ‘All people with haemophilia and haemoglobinopathies access care and treatment, wherever they live.’
A special thank you as well to colleagues from World Diabetes Foundation and Novo Nordisk Foundation for joining the discussion and contributing to such a meaningful exchange.
Many thanks to Carissa Vados, Rikke Johannessen, Leif Fenger Jensen and Mads Loftager Mundt for joining.”
