How Does Inflammation Reshape Red Blood Cell Production? – ASH
American Society of Hematology (ASH) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“How does inflammation reshape red blood cell production?
Join the ASH Journal Club with study author Robert Paulson to explore how the anti-inflammatory metabolite itaconate may influence stress erythropoiesis.
Attendees will be able to:
- Identify the basic differences between steady state and stress erythropoiesis.
- Explain how stress erythropoiesis functions as part of immune/inflammation response.
- Explain how the change from pro-inflammatory signals to pro-resolving signals plays a key role in maintaining homeostasis and preventing inflammatory anemia.
- Explain how defects in resolving inflammation can lead to inflammatory anemia.
October 26 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m Eastern time.”
